Meet our Principal
MEET OUR PRINCIPAL
Dr. Jasmine Ervins was born and raised in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. She brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to education. She moved to Dallas during high school, where she began her career as a receptionist. Her dedication and drive quickly propelled her forward, advancing to Teacher, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal and setting the stage for a career defined by passion and impact.
After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Finance and Human Resources from the University of Arkansas, Dr. Ervins became certified to teach in Texas, launching a teaching career that has touched the lives of countless students. She has taught 7th and 8th grade History and Math at Focus Academies, OW Holmes Middle School, and Byrd Middle School. Her love for education also led her to serve as an Adjunct Professor for nearly a decade, teaching Developmental Reading and Writing at Mountain View College and Tarrant County College.
Driven to deepen her impact, Dr. Ervins pursued advanced studies, earning a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington, followed by a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Her transition into administration allowed her to continue influencing educational outcomes, serving as the Dean of Instruction at Cedar Hill High School and as an Assistant Principal for the last four years at H. Grady Spruce High School.
Throughout her career, Dr. Ervins has become known for her ability to foster meaningful relationships, mentor educators, and create environments where every student feels valued and supported. Her leadership, anchored in equity and belief in the limitless potential of students, has earned her recognition, including the Distinguished Assistant Principal Award.
Now, as she steps into the role of Principal, Dr. Ervins is eager to bring her passion, experience, and unwavering dedication to the Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III Global Preparatory Academy at Paul Quinn College community. Go Panthers!
